Geese

We have tried several types of geese including: Brown Chinese, African, Embden and Toulouse. When we choose a breed we look for both production and temperament. The specimens of these breeds that we had did not meet our expectations. Therefore we chose to raise Pilgrim Geese. We are very pleased with this type of geese.

Left Gander, Right Hen

Pilgrim Geese

Pilgrim Geese are the only geese that can be sexed by color. The males are all white with blue eyes, whereas the females are gray with some white on the head and brown eyes.

L-male, R-female

Day-old male goslings are yellow or silvery with light bills and the females are greenish gray with dark beaks. This distinction becomes more apparent as the babies get older.

Our stock came from Calicowoods and Metzer Hatchery.
